Udaipur Kumbhalgarh Ranakpur Tour:
This is a full-day excursion from Udaipur into the mountains of the Aravalli range to see the impressive Kumbhalgarh Fort and the Ranakpur temples.
Things we will see:
Kumbhalgarh: Built on a hilltop 1100 metres in altitude, Kumbhalgarh fort has perimeter walls that extend 36 kilometres in length, claimed to be the longest in the world after the Great Wall of China. The frontal walls are fifteen feet thick. Kumbhalgarh has seven fortified gateways. Over 360 temples are within the fort, 300 ancient Jain and the rest Hindu. The vista from the palace top typically extends tens of kilometers into the Aravalli Range.
Ranakpur: Ranakpur houses a collection of Jain temples unmatched in their beauty. The temple at Ranakpur is dedicated to Adinatha, the first Jain Tirthankara (spiritual leader) who conquered the cycle of rebirth and achieved enlightenment.
How the tour works:
We will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. and drive 2.5hrs to Ranakpur. After visiting the temples, we will have lunch at the pleasant Maharani Bagh; and then drive 45mins to Kumbhalgarh. We will spend 2-3 hours in the fort, then return to Udaipur by 9:00 p.m.
